Summer Basketball Camps

There is a new format for our Viking Basketball Camps which is designed for a more concentrated emphasis on skill development. We take pride in helping young players develop their skills through instruction, drills, and competition each day. The drills used will match the age group and skill level of the players. All boys must bring a desire to improve and a willingness to work hard. There are two sessions this year:

Session 1: For boys entering grades 4-5: This camp stresses the basic offensive and defensive skills every player needs to develop. The drills used will match the age group and skill level of the players. All boys will benefit from the instruction and competition these camps provide. Session 1 runs from 10 AM - 12 noon on June 14-16.

Session 2: For boys entering grade 9: This camp is designed for incoming freshmen who would like to play high school basketball. Our coaching staff will help them to improve their individual skills, positional skills, and team play. The camp will run like a regular high school practice. They will work with our offense and defense, which will help them prepare for our team. This camp is very important for boys who plan to try out for the high school team. It will help them to see what is required to play at the next level. Session 2 runs from 6 - 8 PM on June 14-16.

To download a camp brochure, click here. There is an error in the Viking Explorers booklet that was sent out to many homes. The cost of each camp is $30, not $45 as is incorrectly listed on the form.

Boys entering grades 6-8 are encouraged to join the Junior Vikings Basketball Club. In addition to the spring workouts that are currently posted, there will be summer workout opportunities as well.
